Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines
offers a Rock Climbing Wall on their ships.
RCCL is the leader of outdoor activities to help maintain the weight you were when embarking upon your cruise. But they take this one step further than any other cruise line. RCCL ships are equipped with Rock Climbing Walls 12 decks or more above the sea and from them the views are amazing. But RCCL does not stop there. Besides the basketball courts, shuffleboard courts and array of ping-pong tables standard on all cruise ships, RCCL’s Voyager Class and Freedom Class ships include miniature golf courses, in-line skating courses, and even ice skating rinks. The Freedom Class liners include Wave Riders, simulated surfing pools where you can catch a wave on the back of the huge ship (see picture in left column).

Beyond the ships, the cruise lines offer their own chartered opportunities to stay-fit at the destinations that they visit. RCCL and NCL have scuba programs for scuba enthusiasts to indulge their under water lust. Shore excursions are filled with scuba, snorkeling, hiking, horseback riding, off-roading and even adventure rope courses that soar you through the treetops of the rain forest. Some gay groups that are part of traditional sailings even charter their own all-gay excursions as part of the benefits to cruise with the group. Pied-Piper Travel, a gay travel company located in NYC, offers many independent gay excursions on the mixed cruises that they book. This allows the guys to mingle comfortably with one another and have a gay old time.
